Sam Falconer – Scientist series

Whilst keeping in line with the same visual language as recent works, Sam produced an experimental series in portraiture that captures the broad achievements of these well known scientists.

Sam Falconer - Marie Curie

After graduating in 2011 Sam has constantly pushed fresh subject matter into his work and for this series wanted to combine both style and substance as opposed to leaning solely on style. Sam’s commissioned work is predominantly non portrait so wanted to strengthen the portfolio and appeal to a wider range of clients.

We believe that with the great exposure to the game across the world, serious football fans are looking for exclusive, thoughtful, long-form articles, but with a more personal touch. With the immediacy afforded by an instantly downloadable app and touch-screen interaction, Eleven aims to deliver informative, intelligent, passionate writing, put together in a stylish and inclusive way.

Also throw into the mix, the ambition to find and develop new talented writers, photographers and illustrators. We want to provide a sounding board for an online community through our website and social media platforms; to hear Your Voice and help others to hear it too.

The main features will be insightful, thought-provoking, full of analysis and nostalgia. At the front of the mag we will carry opinion pieces by Musa Okwonga and Jonathan Wilson. The first of four regular sections, Match will take the form of a preview looking at the world’s tastiest derby games from a historical perspective. We look at the managers and players to watch and then review the latest game.

Helen Friel – Ascot

Ascot are using Helen Friel's paper cut images to promote event days in their calendar like The Prince’s Countryside Fund Raceday and appeal to people who are not traditional racegoers. The traditional nature of paper cutting emphasises Ascot’s heritage but the bright colours and modern style appeal to a new audience.

Joe Wilson – Johnnie Walker journey from Scotland to Mumbai

Joe’s illustration focuses on the Johnnie Walker journey from Scotland to Mumbai, depicting scenes from India's busiest and most vibrant city. The majestic giant Bengal tiger welcomes Johnnie Walker through the gateway to India, into a bustling indian landscape. From the high rise buildings in Mumbai's metropolitan region, to India's beautiful landscapes of mountain temples and exotic wildlife with elephants, peacocks and monkeys.
