Mural-by-Flavio-Melchiorre-768x482

Phoshor Art's Flavio Melchiorre is an Italian artist who is also known as IDRO51. His distinct style (known as hypnotic art) is heavily inspired by street art, something he’s been interested in for many years. Flavio actually began his career as a graffiti writer back in the early 90s. Since then he’s worked mainly in the fields of advertising and fashion, lending his distinctly colourful and psychedelic style to campaigns across the world.

SIMPLE MINDS

Ruth Rowland successfully uses her skills on this promotion for the Simple Minds upcoming tour.
She says "This three dimensional bust was created for the Simple Minds' The Greatest Hits Tour this April. I was commissioned to develop the lettering, working with a range of different marker pens, then scanning and fitting the script to a photo of the head. It was built up gradually until the final image was approved. It's surprisingly tricky to keep the lettering looking raw and not overworked - this vernacular lettering is influenced more by Outsider Art and hand drawn ephemeral signage than by traditional calligraphy. The designer sent over images of the scrawled graffiti on Jim Morrison's grave and the Abbey Road sign as the inspiration for the piece - the fumes from the markers probably helped a little too....there are also plans to use it on the related album which has yet to be released." Chris Ede has produced this stunning graffiti cover art for Sports Illustrated which has just hit the shelves in the US. Featuring Deron Williams, the issue dives "into the history of Brooklyn sports, as seen through the eyes of a writer who covered the borough’s basketball scene in the 1970s." You can also see an animation of the cover her

Faces Of Evil

Ben Tallon has completed one of his ultimate jobs! Commissioned by WWE Magazine in the US, Ben has created a set design for a feature called 'Faces Of Evil.' A Creative Director whom Ben has known for a while spotted some banners Ben had created as Art Director of a feature film shot in Manchester, and so wanted a similar set of backdrops to use in a photo shoot. Ben says "They're all original artwork....(it was a) bit of a dream job for me this one since I'm a lifelong fan of pro wrestling". In these images we see AJ Lee, Daniel Bryan, Jack Swagger and Kane.

Tuff City

EMI’s KPM department has been working with Chris Ede on two album covers.

This Hip Hop compilation entitled “Tuff City” is a striking piece, very in tune with the genre of music. Chris created the double CD design and artwork.
