Claude In The City

Arena is delighted to announce that Claude In The City, written and illustrated by Alex T Smith (Hodder Children's Books) has been recommended by Richard & Judy's first ever Children's Book Club. In association with WHSmith, the new book club is read and reviewed by kids of different ages and interests who pick 18 titles to inspire young readers and aid parents with selecting the best reading material for their children. The books will feature in-store in a Buy One, Get One for £1 offer until the end of February.
Alex's delightful story and funny illustrations have been recommended for readers aged 5 to 8 years old in the Read Yourself Category. Claude is a small plump dog who wears a beret and a bright red jumper, but he is no ordinary dog.... Accompanied by his friend Sir Bobblysock they take a trip to the City for the very first time and end up foiling a robbery and saving the day.

Serge Seidlitz was commissioned by Macmillan Publishers to work on the repackaging of the well loved Judy Blume books. The emphasis was to open Judy Blume up to a whole new audience and to develop a signature style that would work across eleven titles in the series, from the younger children's books to the teen titles.

Above is a selection of Serge¹s designs for the first batch of covers to be published. Forever and Are You There God, It's Me Margaret are available now, keep your eyes peeled for the rest to be released over the coming months.

Nila’s artworks have had such a great reception (excuse the pun!) that they have recently been used across all the companies’ marketing, including a brand new I phone app.

Guardian Guide

James Brown recently illustrated this fantastic cover for The Guardian Guide. James also produced an illustration to accompany the article on the prolific blues recording label, Chess Records. James’ retro typography transported the reader back to the labels heyday of the 1950’s.

Tiger Woods

This powerful portrait of sport’s legend Tiger Woods is the handiwork of illustrator Robert Carter.

Commissioned for the LA Times the article takes a look at Tiger Woods on the anniversary of his famous episode last year which started his rapid decline both on and off the course. Robert's capture of emotion is sensational.
