With eight categories across Advertising, publishing, editorial and site specific work the World Illustration Awards continues to be a landmark award for illustrators and commissioners.

Fresh, new author/illustrator, Daniel Duncan’s debut picture book, SOUTH, was warmly received at the recent book launch with US based children’s publishing house, Abrams — held at The Bright Emporium. The story is calm and gentle, the illustrations full of depth and emotion. Already proving to be a hit, and with fantastic reviews, we thought it might be an idea to ask Dan to join us for a Storytime Sunday. We are delighted to showcase two specialty menu designs for US-based pizzeria Mellow Mushroom. Andrew Archer and Mark Ward were selected to “create a menu people would want to steal” - a fabulous objective from the founder of Mellow Mushroom and their agency BooneOakley. With so much creative freedom, each artist was able imagine their perfect pizza world for the cover and interior of Mellow Mushroom’s menus.

The Boy Fitz Hammond , one of NB Illustration’s top character illustrators is currently working with ABRSM on one of their music practice apps. ABRSM is the exam board of the Royal Schools of Music and this the 3rd app BFH has contributed to. The current app is yet be released but we feature work from from the Violin Practice app and other work.
Sarah Dennis worked with Carlton Books to produce the fantastic Papercut Woodland, a guide to making your own papercuts. Starting with basic paper cutting techniques and building to more delicate pieces, Sarah produced twenty original designs on a woodland theme, which have created a truly stunning book.
