Ifan Bates rounds the summer off with a stunning cover for ES Magazine Summer 2018!
He created this stylish composition to celebrate the feel-good factor this summer. The cover was to illustrate a fun essay written celebrating London's summer of love reflecting on the mood of optimism and escapism and how we were 'united as a city', this article includes a few notable news stories covering The World Cup – Harry Kane, Gareth Southgate, Jack and Dani and Wes and Meghan of Love Island, Harry and Meghan, the heatwave and the Royal Academy 250th anniversary and Grayson Perry.
Ifan studied graphic design at Wolverhampton University and has worked for design companies in London, Birmingham and Rotterdam in the Netherlands.Ifan combines vintage and contemporary imagery to create mixed media collage. He uses Photoshop to create multi-layered work with a distinctive style. He likes to mix textures and colour and blends painted surfaces with found photographs and time worn papers.
