Ing Lee – The Festival Internacional de Quadrinhos
Ing Lee is thrilled to be commissioned to develop the visual identity for FIQ-BH 2024 in Brazil. The Festival Internacional de Quadrinhos is recognised as one of the largest and most influential comics events in Latin America, FIQ celebrates the art of comics by encouraging reading and inspiring new talent.
In a playful twist, the festival's official profile shared a teaser of the artwork and invited followers to guess the artist behind it. The response was overwhelming—many immediately recognised Ing's distinctive style.
Reflecting on her work for the festival, Ing shared: "The main illustration for this project was inspired by Brazilian newsstands and their uniquely and instantly recognizable Brazilian chaos. I wanted to evoke the nostalgia of comic readers of various generations. As the granddaughter of a newsstand owner and cartoonist, I was honored that FIQ has opened this space for my art."
