It was a perfect match when Dawn Cooper was asked to illustrate this fascinating book, A Magical Guide to Plants, by Sandra Lawrence. A topic Dawn is interested in herself, she really enjoyed using her exquisite illustrations to bring this to life, along with Sophie Gordon and the team at Hachette Children’s. DOTTY SUTTON RETURNS WITH THE NOTWITCHES: PRISON BREAK!

DOTTY SUTTON RETURNS WITH THE NOTWITCHES: PRISON BREAK! (Arena Illustration, illustrator, publishing)

Dotty Sutton conjures up a riot of mischief in The Notwitches: Prison Break, the uproarious second instalment of Gary Panton’s middle-grade series from Chicken House Books.

Melanda Notwitch is back and this time she’s setting out to break herself in to prison in order to break her parents out. Dotty’s whimsical black-and-white artwork captures every absurd moment beautifully - from goblin roommates who hate mornings to nearly-talking cats. The result? A gloriously absurd romp bursting with heart, humour, and visual mischief.

“Gary has done it again. A new cast of fabulously silly characters. I had just as much fun as book 1 bringing these hilarious villains to life… I can't wait for kids to meet the Governess and have a good giggle!” — Dotty Sutton.

Satoshi Kambayashi for Boat International US

Satoshi Kambayashi for Boat International US (illustrator, Phosphor Art)

Phosphor's Satoshi Kambayashi is excited to be working with Boat International US on a new monthly column. In the first illustration, Satoshi was asked to illustrate a crowd of common holidaymakers causing a stir next to the concerned captain of a superyacht called King Benji.

Satoshi brought his unique line and watercolour style to the UK many years ago, and since then he has developed a digital style with a similar effect, plus a more graphic flat colour version. The underlying theme is always his great ability to solve a creative problem by providing brilliant quirky solutions with a sense of humour, which is why so many magazines rely on him to interpret and conceptualise their ideas.

Find more of Satoshi's work in his portfolio at phosphorart.com or get in touch with Trina if you'd like to commission him for your next project.
