Words by Dale ..
"Mark maker & illustrator. I like to deal with contemporary social issues and love to make work that contains slight dark humour."

"I'm originally from Lincolnshire but have Irish and Scottish family. I now live and work in Birmingham. My inspiration comes from reading books. The last book I read was The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson. A brilliant book.
I love illustrators such as Laura Carlin, Ralph Steadman, Luke Best. There's far too many to mention. I used to collect starwars figures, but I've grown out of it. I dont have any room to collect things. I have a spare room but I've turned into a makeshift studio.
Increased blood pressure and/or heart rate during phenterminehealth.com therapy is a reason to reduce the dose of the drug and even cancel it."

Malika Favre – Budweiser

Beer brands don't get bigger than Budweiser, so when they approached Malika Favre and asked her to design their limited edition summer packaging, she jumped at the chance. The all American brief, saw Malika taking on the iconic lady Liberty in her signature bold, minimalist vector style. The results are so good they just make us want to grab a beer.

Maguma creates a beautifully crafted conceptual illustration for Panenka Magazine.

The article in issue #42 of the Spanish magazine discusses how the literature of different countries can influence the way people play football. An interesting link made all the better by Maguma's full page artwork.

Steward Easton label and mural for twisted barrel ale

The mural on the wall is on the outside of the brewery Twisted Barrel Ale. It's a new brewery which has just opened up in Coventry. The imagery on the wall was drawn from an open brief- they wanted a representation of Coventry. Stewart chose to use the story of Lady Godiva and Peeping Tom to depict for the wall painting.

Prior to the bombing during the blitz,  Coventry was a real pretty city with a vast amount of Tudor buildings. After the war the council pulled what was left down with a view of rebuilding it and making it a modern town -  but it was never finished.  As a reference to this Stewart have drawn lots of tudor style buildings based on the remaining ones in Coventry.
The labels design was once again an open brief, though  Stewart needed to have connections with Coventry.

On the label design you will see the Tudor buildings, Coventry's three spires, doves (as a reference to Coventry being a city of peace and reconciliation). I drew a lad and a lass in celebration of the tag line 'more folk than punk' from the brewery.

Big Bright Red Auction for Bath Children’s Literature Festival 2015

The Bath Children’s Literature Festival was founded in 2007 by Gill and John McLay and has continued to be a strong presence in the literature world, currently maintaining the title of largest dedicated children’s book festival in the UK. This year, select Bright artists have been invited to get involved with the 2015 promotional marketing & fundraising for the event.

The ethos of the festival is, and always has been, to entertain children, and to enthuse them about reading:

‘We aim to create a friendly, family atmosphere in which young book fans can come along to Festival events and meet their favourite authors and book characters…Signing queues after some events are legendary and can last up to three hours for the biggest names.’

Each year an illustrator has drawn a Red Chair and produced a physical piece of artwork which has been used in promotion & marketing for the festival – previous artists include globally renowned Chris Riddell (2015 Children’s Laureate), Emily GravettTony RossDavid McKee & Axel Sheffler, to name a few.
