Food illustration by Mister Paul
Mister Paul is usually known for his wide angle interiors and classic building illustrations but he has a nice selection of food and packaging based illustration. Mister Paul creates his work by drawing his subjects initially with black ink and a dry nib pen.
The line images are then embellished with a layer of brush marks which add texture to counter and balance the dry line.
His line images are then desktop scanned and imported into Photoshop where they are coloured. Typically, his wide planes of desaturated milky colour are worked into to reveal a second level of detailing that compliments and supports the original black line work.
Paul has worked for a range of clients including, Waitrose, Emirates, Quality World Magazine, Decanter Magazine and many others.
