Soundtracks play a pivotal role in the series, as such the team at Disney wanted Matt to make music the focus of the poster. The beams of light give a knowing nod to an iconic piece of Pink Floyd imagery, whist highlighting the sense of fun and humour that comes with the Guardians films.

Michelle Thompson was also commissioned to create a poster for the newly released movie, with her design paying homage to vintage music posters.
