ADAM STOWER WINS GERMANY’S TOP CHILDREN’S BOOK PRIZE

Celebrated illustrator Adam Stower has just been awarded the prestigious 2025 German Children’s Book Prize for his work on Murray the Viking (published in Germany as Muffin und Tört bei den Wikingern).

The ceremony, held in Rostock-Laage, saw an ecstatic children’s jury give him the top honour. Adam described the event as a whirlwind experience and his utter disbelief and joy at winning the overall prize.

Adam’s playful, expressive style shines through in this award-winning book, bringing to life a tale that’s equal parts daring, funny and heart-warming. This recognition not only celebrates his unique artistic voice but also underlines his ability to connect with young readers across languages and borders. HUGE congratulations to Adam, he’ll be at the Sheffield Children’s Book Award in November where Murray the Viking has been shortlisted for another children’s book prize - cross fingers!
