Phosphor's Bill Sanderson recently worked on a label for Old Glasgow whisky, a brand which celebrates the history and heritage of distilling in and around Glasgow.
The label, created by Bill in his signature scratchboard style, re-interprets the Glasgow Coat of Arms. The original coat of arms features a fish, a tree, a bell and a bird - all symbols related to legends about Saint Mungo, the patron saint of Glasgow. Bill's artwork features these same symbols, along with some iconic Glasgow architecture. Barley (to represent whisky) and thistles (to represent Scotland) have been added around the slogan 'Let Glasgow Flourish'.

Bill Sanderson works almost exclusively with scratchboard, with which he produces both black and white and full colour artwork. He has done drawings for many newspapers, journals, book publishers, designers and advertising agencies, including Royal Mail, Puffin. and Radio Times.
