Joe’s illustration focuses on the Johnnie Walker journey from Scotland to Mumbai, depicting scenes from India's busiest and most vibrant city. The majestic giant Bengal tiger welcomes Johnnie Walker through the gateway to India, into a bustling indian landscape. From the high rise buildings in Mumbai's metropolitan region, to India's beautiful landscapes of mountain temples and exotic wildlife with elephants, peacocks and monkeys.
Much like Mumbai, this drawing melds the traditional and the modern, combining elements of Mumbai's spiritual past and prosperous future.

Jonathan Leach was thrilled to illustrate an article for The Observer Magazine recently. His signature fantasy style captured the warmth and harmonious nature of the article, which took tips from the animal kingdom on keeping warm during winter.
We were also recently treated to a special visit from Jonathan at our offices. He travelled from Southampton armed with a huge trunk full of his stunning hand-crafted puppets which inspire his illustration work. Watch this space for an exciting children's book project Jonathan is working on!

Soaring Penguin Press' latest issue of Meanwhile… is a great anthology of comic stories by top notch talent, both new and old. It features, Fish 'n' Chips, the first in a series of single page strips by new talent Euan Cook, which gets a great review in Forbidden Planet's Blog:
"… a fish 'n' chip supper… telling a simple mood piece, musing on isolation, on a lack of focus in life, monologue moaning, capped off with a final few panels where the isolation is hammered home by the moaner's companions complete lack of attention. It's a nothing strip in many ways, but damn, it's an entertaining nothing."

Books of Wonder is one of New York’s well-known children’s bookstore, having been established over two decades ago and is a global place of gathering for book lovers far and wide. Each month they hold a Picture Book panel that features the latest books being published and their creators - Bright’s UK artist Migy Blanco was one of 4 creators invited on Sunday 8th February to share the process of making their books and read aloud their beautiful stories.
Migy’s And Away We Go seemed to be the perfect book for such an occasion, as it is set in NYC and features a hot air balloon lifting off for an adventure into space with various animals jumping on board - and this is what the weekend felt like for Bright — lifting off into new wonderful adventures together in the US!
Henry Holt published Migy’s book and his editor, Sally Doherty attended the event along with their publicist.

Steve May is back with more anarchic illustrations for the fourth in the series of The Diary of Dennis The Menace: Bash Street Bandit!, published by Puffin this month.
Steve's fluid line has an energy that brilliantly suits author, Steven Butler's, hilarious text. To celebrate the launch of this book, Steve was asked to help out in the 'Draw-along' at the Puffin Virtually Live event.

Tinder by David Roberts (illustrator) and Sally Gardner (author) (Orion Children’s Books) as reviewed by The Guardian - has been nominated for the long list 2015 Kate Greenaway Medal picture book prize !
This retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Tinderbox is a beautiful book that is very much the inspired collaboration of the outstanding writing of Sally Gardner and stunning pictures by David Roberts which makes this book so absolutely special in every way!

James Grover was asked to create murals to decorate the main restaurant wall and corridor and to bring individuality to the site by finding inspiration in local history or landmarks. His work is based around the rich musical heritage of the city of Sheffield and is initially seen as a decorative map. After looking closer at the mural, "...the city centre map’s street names are song titles with the year in which they were released...creating a giant quiz and igniting the natural competitive spirit to solve puzzles. For example, one street is named 'Sing It Back (1998)' – the answer would be 'Moloko'. The corridor features stylised album covers, also showing only the release date", he says. James wanted to hold the viewer's attention with this project and provide a talking point too - the restaurant is in a shopping centre and has a high turnover of customers with shorter meal times. The mural was painted on-site using acrylic and emulsion.
