A range of comical characters produced by Chris Boyd illustrate these stories for children. Commissioned by PONK for Hotel Premiere Classe in France, the images which are being used in a leaflet include Le Petit Poucet (Tom Thumb) and Cendrillon (Cinderella) - with a slightly modern twist!
In stores now, these wonderful creations in line have been produced by Jacqueline Bissett for Tie Rack. It's an ongoing campaign for the Tie Rack windows and has seen Jacqueline already produce 20 line and wash illustrations of men and women. Accessories have then been superimposed on the characters and feature 2m high in their windows throughout the UK aswell as the Tie Rack website.
Ted Baker, who are a great supporter of illustration, commissioned Jerry LoFaro to create two hyper real puppet characters for their new fashion eyewear campaign. Originally planning to make actual models, and then use photography, Ted Baker realised that a better result could be achieved through illustration. They were so happy with the results and Jerry’s work, that they have just commissioned a further set from him which will be seen later this year.
‘This summer, the Extremely talented Zdenko Basic came to London to receive his honourable diploma from the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) for his illustration. This congress is held every year and every country have their own IBBY section; Zdenko is the Croatian illustrator nominee. Each nominee receives a diploma and becomes a member of the IBBY Honour List. This list is a biennial selection of outstanding, recently published books, honouring writers, illustrators and translators from IBBY member countries. The 2012 list comprises 169 titles from 58 countries, in 4 languages.

Calligraphist Niels Shoe Meulman has collaborated with Ogilvy Paris & Steam Films to create the latest set of films in its Louis Vuitton Journeys campaign. The film sees Niels Shoe Meulman pay tribute to the great Muhammad Ali alongside hip-hop artist Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), with Yasiin Bey reciting some of Muhammad Ali's immortal words, accompanied by Niels Shoe Meulmanpainting directly onto the canvas of the ring with huge brushstrokes.

Mixing pattern and texture with form and perspective,Daniel Mackie creates this energetic book cover. Commissioned by Canadian publisher Talon books, Daniel uses his brushes to noticeable effect, illustrating a challenging title; an adaptation of Hesiod’s "two great works, Theogony and Works and Days, taking into account the poet’s essential meditative insights that paved the way for the subsequent achievements of Greek philosophy".
Philip Bannister's portfolio of work for the Mary Portas Shop! column was put on display last month. For the whole of July, 60 of the illustrations originally created for The Telegraph were exhibited at The Regal; Philip's local independent cinema. Mary said of the work ''Philip Bannister is a talent who brings to life my columns each week, but more than that his pictures will become an important visual record of the social history of our high streets. So Philip, if there's any leftover don't worry I'll be buying them!''
Launched in June, this wonderful stamp has been created by Gail Armstrong for the United Nations. The job was to create a paper sculpture based on the theme of 'land' to mark the UN conference in Rio, Brazil for the International Summit on Sustainable Development. It has been high-profile and also hugely successful leading Gail to put together a movie showing how the piece was made, giving an amazing insight to her creative world! Watch it here.

Renowned cartoonist Bob Wilson was commissioned by Tatler magazine, to bring some sophisticated fun to their article about office dieting. Bob, an ex award winning advertising art director, has had cartoons featured in every major magazine both here and in the States.
