We're delighted to introduce our new illustrator, Spike. He's well known for his "spiky nosed" illustrations and humorous cast of genetically challenged humanoids, Heath Robinson-style machines and menagerie of mad animals. Spike is adept at solving editorial briefs with speed and wit and his illustrations have adorned the pages of most daily news publications, including his hilarious cartoon strip 'From the Vaults' for Occupational Health magazine. Spike's interest in history and science makes him perfectly suited to the novelty and non fiction children's book market, an area which he is keen to pursue.
BGI are proud to announce a fantastic new venture between London Zoo, Bloomsbury and their very own talented artist Mark Chambers. Mark's appealing illustrations will feature in a series of picture books alongside an extensive publishing programme including fiction and novelty titles too. The deal was inspired by Mark's collaboration with the zoo to create 'Animal Adventure', an interactive children's area at the heart of the zoo where children can play and learn at the same time. Mark is overjoyed to be a part of it and BGI are thrilled to be representing him.

Wonderful children's illustrator Mark Ruffle has just completed a great set of books for Ladybird's Superhero Phonic Readers. Featuring in 6 short phonic stories and deliciously colourful characters such as the Jumping Jade and Sky Boy, these books are at just the right level for children to enjoy at home without teaching support. Illustrated with bold artwork, each funny, gripping story practises the synthetic phonics techniques used in schools. And he is in good company as our other artists, Ingela Peterson and Deborah Van De Leijgraaf complete the set with their equally charming work, with 4 titles each!
