Daniel Morgenstern has been producing his wonderful portraits of well-known personalities for many years, both with collage and digitally, and his work has been seen in most of the mainstream magazines and newspapers worldwide. Here is a selection of his recent very topical pieces.
Matthew Laznicka was thrilled with his commission from Hearst Publishing’s Popular Mechanics.
Originally commissioned as an editorial illustration, the success of the image meant the magazine decided to use it for the May 2011 cover. Matthew says “It had always been my dream to be on the cover. My father and grandfather were always subscribers and I loved as a child going through the old box my grandad had dating back to the 40's.”
Talented artist Bonnie Hofkin recently completed this stunning commission for the FT’s How To Spend It magazine, which perfectly illustrates her unique use of soft pencil, combining realism with a diagrammatic feel.
David McConochie produces an illustrative cover for 'Sport Magazine'.
The image features two of football's most famous managers Jose Mourinho (Real Madrid) and Pep Guardiola (Barcelona), as they continue to compete in this year's football season.
The Spring issue of Intelligent Life has run a huge portrait of Bob Dylan by the gifted Kathryn Rathke. The portrait was in honour of his 70th birthday, and not the first Kathryn has created for the magazine, she says: “… it is a glorious magazine and I treasure every copy that Martin Lovelock sends me. ..”
This ‘Cool Britannia’ illustration by Peter Quinnell is a celebration of Britain and all that makes it cool: Nora Batty; Morris Minors; and egg ‘n’ chips!
