Max Loeffler
German illustrator Max Loeffler is now represented by Début Art.
We are extremely pleased to announce that Début Art is now the artist representative agency for Max Loeffler.
Max’s vividly imaginative and lyrical work takes its influence from classic surrealists and retro science fiction book covers. His work grounds the highly conceptual and abstract in a material, visual language, as he strives to ‘translate and decipher what can only be felt, not directly seen’. His artwork is characterised by an atmospheric texture and poetic bent, his compositions often located in an environment outside of familiar time and place.
Max cut his teeth illustrating album artwork for punk and metal bands when still in school, before pursuing a formal education in the Graphic Design department at Hochschule Darmstadt. Since 2017 he has been working freelance with clients such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Adidas and Google, Bloomberg Businessweek, Folio Society, DIE ZEIT, and The Economist.
