Alex T. Smith wins AOI World Illustration Children’s Book Award

Huge congratulations to Alex T. Smith who seems to be on a winning streak! He has won the AOI World Illustration Children's Book Award for illustrating Egmont's 60th Anniversary edition of the Dodie Smith classic, The Hundred and One Dalmatians.

"My objective was to set my illustrations in 1956- the year the book was published and to make the illustrations reflect this in the styling of clothes and accessories and settings etc. I wanted to make the illustrations dramatic, cinematic and give the animals personalities. I also wanted to make the puppies as pudgy and as cute as possible in contrast to Cruella DeVil."
