Design Projects 
With the launch of a special edition of Pimm’s this summer, Mother London asked Paul Thurlby to create artwork for the new bottle.
The flavour in question was Strawberry (with a hint of mint), which along with the British countryside, Paul used as his inspiration for his illustrations. Twenty signed prints were also created for the campaign, which will be given away to promote the launch.

The Coogee Pavilion on Sydney's Coogee Beach is home to a Mark Oliver mural.
Known for a great place to spot whales, it seems fitting to decorate the interior of the pavilion with whale themed art. Commissioned by Hemmes Trading in Australia, Mark worked on composing a scene around whale watching. He explains " At this stage it was still a poster that was required, but as the project developed, it was decided that the illustration could occupy one whole wall of the games area, a mere 15 metres x 3 metres! A company in Sydney were engaged to create a 'foil' print from my digital file which would then be stuck to the wall, giving the impression that it had been painted directly onto the wall." Sam Chivers and Yehrin Tong were 2 of the 21 artists commissioned to create stunning artwork featured in the Expo 2020 Dubai.
Sam's work explored Lifecycle Design and Yehrin's work investigated Financial Fluidity.
Expo 2020 is about the great things that happen when people collaborate.
To highlight this and explore Expo 2020 Dubai’s subthemes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, we invited artists from the Middle East and across the globe to create 21 illustrations that represent key topics within these three areas.
The illustrations are showcased on 21 bespoke installations located in public spaces around the UAE. Each structure is accompanied by its own interactive touch screen where you can explore the topics and meet the artists.
The breadth of topics demonstrates Expo 2020 Dubai’s wide focus on issues that are relevant to everyone.

Late last year had the chance to illustrate a page of stamps for Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Emporium. For those who don’t know Discworld is a series of 40 books written by Pratchett, based on the fictional Discworld – a flat planet sitting on the backs of four elephants which ride through space on the back of a giant tortoise (of course)…
The stamps feature Sam Vimes – the chief of police of Ankh-Morpock, the biggest city on the Discworld. Although Vimes is a much-loved character from the series he had never before been featured on his own stamp. Discworld stamps are fast becoming collector’s items and have been picked up by The British Museum in the past, so we hope the Sam Vimes stamp will prove as popular as the rest.
Bill was honoured to be included in this strange world and the resulting stamp looks great. The Phosphor team were saddened to hear the news of Terry Pratchett’s death last month and wish to send their condolences to Terry’s family and all at the Discworld Emporium.

We’ve been working on our new stationery here at HF towers, something that’s always a tricky thing to do – stock samples, pantone chips, brand identity. It’s a dizzying task. It all began with some clever illustrated portraits of HF staff Tom, Jon and Stuart, created by Jean Jullien. These were then handed over to master-of-design George Bradshaw, who worked them into business card designs, which utilises the Circular typeface by Lineto. GF Smith Colorplan Cool Grey was the stock of choice, which was printed by the good folk at Darwin Press. Patrick Bateman eat your heart out.

Lee Hodges creates magnificent posters for this year's RHS events.
Working with Premm Design for the Royal Horticultural Society, Lee has produced a series of visuals for the various events during the year, with a bespoke illustration for each half-term and for the major campaigns at Easter, Summer and Christmas. The illustrations are being used on posters, flyers, press ads and onsite banners at each of the four RHS gardens.

“We felt that Lee’s vibrant, joyous style was perfect for this campaign. We are able to communicate the wide range of activities available at each of the RHS Gardens, along with the related flora and fauna, all with a strong sense of fun in a way that appeals to the 6-9 year old target audience and their families.”

Shobhna Patel has a very unique and creative style in paper cutting and design which is why Artist Partners her agents fell in love with her work - she recently produced this wonderful design for her developing packaging portfolio for the website.
Her work is both intricate and complex, but incredibly beautiful, and Shobhna's eye for detail is really inspiring.

Keith Robinson‘s raw talent for strong characterisation and indisputable drawing skills have made him an irreplaceable credit to the Bright family for the past 3 years. Therefore it came to no surprise as the 150th Anniversary of Alice in wonderland arrived this year, that the UK creative was hand picked to illustrate an issue of stamps commemorating the globally loved story. Previously, Keith had worked with Guernsey Post to create several stamp issues and their children’s character, Penny the Postie, who features in two picture books he also author illustrated.

Thibaud Herem teamed up with MONOGRAM London late last year to help brand and launch a new title for Hearst Magazines called Town & Country magazine.
MONOGRAM’s concept was to highlight the brand’s rich and unrivalled heritage by creating a custom designed crest. Thibaud’s hand crafted style was perfectly suited to this and the finished crest embodied the perfect mix of understated luxury perfect for the magazines demographic. It was also used across a range of marketing materials to celebrate the launch and looked particularly nice as a black foil on black.
