For the next 18 months Bob Wilson's wonderful relaxed cartoon characters will feature in magazines and newspapers throughout the country along side a TV campaign for EON. Bob Wilson is an ex D&AD award winning creative director who took up illustration when he discovered clients preferred his own work to the executions by commissioned artists! His inexhaustible supply of endearing fun characters drawn in a seemingly effortless style, belie the fact that Bob pays great attention to detail and is a perfectionist creating many versions until he is completely satisfied with the final result.
Talented designer/illustrator/animator Darren Whittington worked closely with Pentagram last year to produce a group of fun characters for the latest range of children's vitamins for Boots. They are currently showcased in store with posters and new gleaming foil packaging. Darren's striking individual characters also featured on a range of M&S sweets, and a whole series of products for The Early Learning Centre. His other more sophisticated linear style still appears on award winning labels for Waitrose fruit drinks and Liz Earle beauty products. He has been very involved with the Eden project, giving a unique look to their promotional brochures and cards.
The Artworks is very pleased to introduce one of its newest illustrators, Kate Forrester. Kate creates designs using beautiful hand drawn type, her illustrations are eye catching, clever and truly unique. An exciting addition to The Artworks team!
Lee Wildish is a well known published illustrator of children’s books with many successful titles including ‘Mum And Dad Glue’ and ‘The Grunt And The Grouch’. His newest creation is ‘Swamp Life’, an action-packed adventure with lovable characters and an original and exciting story that children, adults and the whole family will love. It’s a show-stopping extravaganza set in a soggy froggy swamp!! Freddy lives happily in his swamp with his brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and nieces and . . . well basically his very large family! Life is peachy in this idyllic corner of Swamp Life until the status quo is temporarily disrupted by the arrival of the dastardly crocs, led by Patch – a cruel carnivore on a mission! They are a mean but pretty unsuccessful group of miscreants that wander around causing havoc, trying to take over swamp after swamp after swamp. However Patch & co hadn’t counted on coming across such a fearless little froggy as Freddy . . . the bravest amphibian for miles around! Freddy stands up for what’s right and draws upon his endless source of friends to help him; the worker beavers; his family members and even singing toads from other swamps!
Swamp Life is just one of many successful new launches from The Bright Group International, which, born out of the success of The Bright Agency, a leading illustration agency in children’s publishing, and The Bright Academy, a blossoming literary agency, has been established to create outstanding children’s content across various commercial channels with longevity for the licensing industry. The Bright Group International aims to bring its valuable skill set and knowledge derived from eight years experience in children’s publishing to the licensing arena, producing a range of accomplished and exciting design-led properties with potential across all sectors.
Doing business with big names such as Harrods, Simon And Schuster and Random House, it was a natural progression to exploit this expertise across the board and The Bright Group International was founded with its mission statement to develop outstanding children’s content for various commercial channels. The BGI It will be showcasing four of these fabulous new creations, Swamp Life, Cowboy Carl, The Boglysaurus, and Barry The Fish With Fingers at the forthcoming Brand Licensing exhibition at Earl’s Court on the 30th September to the 1st October, stand 495. Expect to see hilarious, one-off creations pitch-perfect for licensing, whether it be toys, games, animation or films. We look forward to seeing you there!
‘If The Bright Group International can have the same level of success as it has done in developing illustrators then it will surely become a key player in contributing new and exciting content to the licensing industry on every level.’ Vicki Willden – Lebrecht, Managing Director.
We are proud to welcome the talented typographer Sean Freeman to our roster
of artists. Sean's experimental approach to typography derives from his love
of playing around with day to day materials like milk, powder, smoke and
acrylic paint mixed with hair gel! We have high hopes for Sean if this
recent work for Leo Burnett's Drug Driving campaign is anything to go by.

Pete Ellis was commissioned by Maynard’s Wine Gums to resurrect the iconic ‘hoots man’ for their recent marketing campaign.
Pete created a series of of images that were used across a range of media platforms. Whether he was peering out at you from the packet or cheekily lifting his kilt, we think Pete’s brilliant characterisation perfectly captured the personality of the famous hootsman. After the commission there was certainly juice loose about this hoose....!!!
