Neal Layton

Neal Layton’s illustrations have been used as part of a major refurbishment of the John Harvard Library in Southwark. Artworks from his hilarious novelty book The Story of Everything bring the walls of the children’s area to life.

Neal’s sketchbooks also feature in Nikalas Catlow’s children’s book design blog, the apple and the egg, for Motivation Monday. Nikalas writes:

I’m a bit fan of spontaneity within illustration and Neal Layton is a master of this approach. His work also exudes a sense of playfulness and humour which I think is his real main weapon.

Joanna Walsh has been drawing on the walls of legendary Paris bookshop, Shakespeare & Company.

Joanna illustrated the faces of fourteen English language writers who once lived in Paris , creating a trompe d’oeil art gallery of portraits complete with frames.

Joanna’s work in marker pen and just a little carefully added gilt really enlivens the staircase wall which leads to the second floor of the bookshop.
