Miguel Ordóñez recently worked with American talk show host Jimmy Fallon on a children’s book for US publisher Macmillan. The tongue-in-cheek book encourages babies to utter ‘Dada’ as their first word. We think Miguel did a great job with the fun illustrations!
The campaign aims to keep children safe on UK's beaches and comprises of a safety pack called 'Hold Tight, Hand Up!' and a music video to support the message. Targeted at the slightly older child who loves to bodyboard, the free pack is full of top tips for parents, a wave guide for children and animated stickers they can attach to bodyboards and beach bags. Duncan created the cool characters and all the art for the different goodies in the pack. The animation was also designed by Duncan; he then directed two 2D animators from Sun & Moon Studios in Bristol with Proximity providing the music and VFX. Watch the video here.
Garry Walton was commissioned by Rare Breed to illustrate Colliers Midsummer Retail Report. Pastiche artist Garry worked in the classic comic book style to create a series of bold characters for the reports covers.
With a 10am start, Ada Grey was raring to read her illustrated Hippobottymus (Little Tiger Press) to the crowd of eagerly awaiting children. Monkey impressions, Crocodile snaps, bubble dances galore – the group of avid fans were up on their feet joining in the jungle fun. After the reading, the families were invited to design their own hippos and colour in sheets of their favourite characters alongside the creative guidance of Ada (her bubble machine!) and Little Tiger Editor, Ellie Farmer!
Throughout the morning, the kids were making full use of the giant chalk board wall – doodling alongside both Ada & Laura – and enjoying the array of pastries & refreshments the Doodle Bar had supplied. Donations for Great Ormond Street Hospital were taken from start to finish – the Waitrose Easter baskets were a hit and kids were lining up for a signed copy of Ada’s book!
Orange recently commissionedBen Scruton to illustrate their employee guidelines. Ben's brief was to "make people smile when they land on each page, at the same time as clearly communicating what the content on that page is about." Ben's playful characters did the job perfectly.
