Phosphor at the London Book Fair

Earlier this month, Phosphor's founder and agent, Trina Wydmanski, had a great time at the London Book Fair meeting and chatting with clients. In particular, Trina was showing work by artists who illustrate children's picture books, or who have published titles in the past, including Alexander Jackson, Christopher Nielsen, Mandy Millie Flockton and Lee Ford.

Garth Glazier’s Botanical Illustrations Teach Us to Look Closer

Phosphor's Garth Glazier has created a series of illustrations depicting common invasive weeds and wildflowers in order to highlight their inherent beauty. The illustrations were based on photos Garth took of a meadow along a busy major avenue, near where he lives in Oakland County in the US state of Michigan.

As is the case now we are often asked by a certain amount of self publishing authors to commission a suitable artist to produce their own covers, and to  re-create their vision for them for the cover in this process.

We are delighted to share one such image -  the author:  Luigi Kohli  commissioned  and entrusted  our very own Paul Young, who is  well known for his historic paintings for both fictional  book covers and factual non fiction books to produce this stunning painting for the cover of the first of a proposed trilogy of books, continuing the story of the Novel Ben Hur by Lew Wallace. This book also includes some  beautiful internal black and white hand drawn and illustrated maps.
