Phosphor Art's James Gifford was recently commissioned by Oxford University Press to illustrate Thorkild's Song by Rudyard Kipling in his signature Graphic Novel style. The poem is from The Puck of Pook's Hill, originally published in 1906 and is sung by a Danish seafarer hoping for wind. We're looking forward to receiving our copy of the book with the text on James' gorgeous illustrations. For now you can read the poem below...

Jessica Courtney-Tickle graduated from Kingston University in July 2014. She has a stand-out style, with beautiful attention to detail and the ability to create an incredible light and atmosphere in her work. Jess joins us at The Bright Emporium this month with her newly published book featuring the music of it’s names sake, The Four Seasons,by Antonio Vivaldi. A musical story time is a first for us and we are thoroughly looking forward to it. In speaking to Jess about her inspiration, music is a huge one, making this book very special to her. Christopher Gibb's atmospheric cover illustration for Kristen Simmons' exciting new book METALTOWN, is published by Tor in the UK this month. Chris' imagery was the perfect choice for this dystopian tale set in a fictional factory city, diseased and ravaged by war, where money and food are in short supply.
