Adam Stower’s Illustrates David Walliams’ SPACEBOY!
This awesome duo are back with their eagerly anticipated, action-packed middle grade novel set in the American mid-west in the 1960’s.
America and Russia are in a race to conquer space! Stuck on a remote farm with her awful aunt, twelve year-old orphan Ruth spends every night gazing at the stars, dreaming of adventure.
One night she spots a flying saucer blazing across the sky… before crash-landing in a field. When the spaceship opens and reveals a mysterious alien, all Ruth’s dreams come true. But does this visitor from another planet have a giant secret…?
Our interstellar illustrator Adam Stower, who has also illustrated Walliam's recent younger full colour picture books; Little Monsters and Marmalade and Worlds Worst Pets, was overjoyed to get the chance to work with David for this age group. He said:
‘Spaceboy is packed with mystery, action and hilarious characters - all the things I love illustrating most, so it’s been an absolute treat. And I’m a big vintage sci-fi fan too, so the space race setting is the icing on the cake! Loads of fun!’
This is a hilarious and SUPER-SONIC adventure with brilliant illustrations, including graphic novel spreads showing action sequences which children will love. SPACEBOY is published this month by Harper Collins.
