Alex T Smith’s Ella and Primrose Now on Me Books

Me Books have just launched Alex T Smith's enhanced ebook editions of Ella and Primrose, narrated by actress and comedian Lucy Porter. Me Books have developed a special patented ‘draw and record’ technology allowing children to create interactive hotspots and record their own narration and sounds. The result is a brilliantly entertaining new way for families to enjoy reading stories together. These unique and personal editions can then be saved and treasured for years to come.

“Me Books have really brought my books to life with Lucy Porter’s exciting and very funny narration. I hope little readers (and big ones) have as much fun with these stories as I had creating them and working alongside the Me Books team.” Alex T Smith (represented by Arena)

Just Published: Thomas Flintham’s illustrations for The Last Wild

Thomas Flintham was commissioned by Quercus Fiction to illustrate The Last Wild by Piers Torday. This is an adventure novel about an extraordinary boy called Kester, who’s life is transformed by a flock of excited pigeons who are talking to him, he realizes his life will never be the same again. The pigeons fly Kester to a wild place where the last creatures in the land have survived. A wise stag needs Kester’s help, and together they must embark on a great journey. Thomas brought the characters to life for the cover design and created their world on the black and white interior map and used his stylish hand rendered type for the title and blurb.  Thomas Flintham is represented by Arena

Marian Hill for Hutchinson

Marian Hill was commissioned by Hutchinson to illustrate the cover for "Tomorrow There Will Be Apricots" by Jessica Soffer.

Marian's beautiful illustration, created by collaging together tiny pieces of magazine, is perfectly suited to the story of an Iraqi immigrant woman and an almost-orphan in New York City, brought together by cookery lessons.
