Mike Hall produces wondrous maps and illustrations for The Atlas of Imagined Places.
Combining pop culture with map enthusiasm, 'The Atlas of Imagined Places: from Liliput to Gotham City' is published by Pavilion Books and written by Matt Brown and Rhys B. Davis.
The authors spent months compiling hundreds of fictional and imaginary places from film, television, literature, myths, comics, video games and much more, all of which were carefully plotted in a series of highly detailed, antique-style maps by Mike.
To celebrate the launch of the book, the three creators attended an event at Stanfords in Covent Garden where they discussed what inspired the book, how the authors painstakingly researched and compiled all the locations, and how Matt and Mike worked together to design the maps.
Anne Wilson recently created this WILD image for Chester zoo, the six metre mural can be seen across the large window at Chester Zoo shop with elements from the illustration used within the shop itself and on signage.
This is the biggest Anne has seen her work used and was commissioned to re-vamp the shop ready for opening after the Covid rules were relaxed back in July. The animal filled scene with its charming jungle characters frame the expansive window, inviting the visitors from the outside.
