Sarah Dennis was thrilled to be asked to illustrate ‘Natural’ a fabulous new cookbook published by Parragon. Sarah created a beautiful set of paper cut illustrations for the cover and insides of this compendium of wholesome recipes. This was a dream project for self - confessed foodie Sarah.
Phosphor Art are pleased to introduce you to Marcus (AKA Marc Bach) who they jumped at the chance to add to their books! Marcus works with a number of different techniques and materials but his sense of humour always shines through in his often surrealist illustrations. Marcus has won several awards and nominations, most recently Best Fiction Children’s Book at Junceda Illustration Awards 2014 (Spain) and was shortlisted at Jonathan Cape/The Observer/Comica Short Story Prize 2014 (UK).
Purveyors of excellent food and drink EAT, recently commissioned a new series of paintings by the wondrous Joël Penkman. Working in her trademark egg tempera style, Joël has created four images which will be displayed in EAT's stores across the country. Tasty stuff.
The Scottish Opera were recently in touch with a problem they had come up against, a lovely new production of Carmen that needed beautiful promotional material but no artist to provide them with it.
Luckily our Sarah Tanat Jones was able to save the day and give them a series of informative and impactful images that tell the tale of Don José, a naive solder who is seduced by the fiery Gypsy, Carmen. Sarah’s illustrations were projected onto the sides of buildings and in public spaces throughout Scotland.
Phosphor Art’s James Gifford has been working on a number of illustrations inspired by important figures and events in history including this portrait of Joan of Arc.

Phosphor Art are running a feature on their website called Meet the Artist, a simple five question interview which aims to gain a better insight into the world of their artists. Most recently featured was Chinese artist Nod Young who told Phosphor all about his current self-initiated comic book project and advises aspiring artists to grab every opportunity.
A new interview will be uploaded monthly so look out for July’s interview, which will feature the work of Jenny Lloyd.
