We're excited to reveal an advanced look at Yehrin Tong’s design for one of the latest Virago Modern Classic titles, due to be published in January 2018 to coincide with the imprint’s 40th Anniversary. The wonderful Yehrin created this beautiful pattern, featuring on the cover of the upcoming title ‘Writers As Readers: A Celebration of Virago Modern Classics’, which will be available from the start of next year in the form of a lovely gift hardback.

Fashion Feast: Zoe More O’Ferrall creates a Covent Garden map illustration for ES Magazine.

 

The Fashion Feast summer event was a mix of fashion and food and took place last weekend. Aided by Zoe's map which picked out participating brands and events in the area, the piece was in conjunction with Seven Dials in Covent Garden.

Paul Young shortlisted for prestigious award.

Great News! Paul Young has once again been shortlisted for the most coveted of prizes for the David Gemmell Ravenheart Award, he has been nominated for his splendid cover artwork for the book entitled:
Wrath the fourth title in the series The Faithful and the Fallen - series of covers that he has worked on for the brilliant author John Gwynne.

This month we celebrate the work of Brian Sanders.

Artist Partners are proud to announce:

A celebration of the work of Brian Sanders, the leading British Illustrator, who rose to prominence in 1960s London. As a highly respected member of Artists Partners he created work for most major UK magazines, from Sunday Times to Nova, for advertising campaigns such as Ford, Phillips and the British Army, and for film posters including ”Oh What A Lovely War”, “Paint Your Wagon” and “Lady Sings The Blues”.

During 1965 he was appointed by Stanley Kubrick to paint and draw the filming of “2001; A Space Odyssey”.His work provides a beautiful and remarkable insight into one of the most celebrated science fiction movies of all time.

In 2011, Sanders re created his early style of work and captured 1960’s New York Madison Avenue in a poster and DVD cover for Mad Men Series 6.

Working in the pastiche style that has become synonymous with the world's most beautiful racecourse, Garry has produced several illustrations for various online and print campaigns.

Artist Interview – Anna Koska

 

Specialising in fruit, vegetables and the natural world, Anna has illustrated over 100 books and worked with chefs, writers and publishers from around the globe.

Over her 25 year career Anna has honed her skills in watercolour, pen & ink, oils and most recently, egg tempera. Her methods may vary but the joy of her artwork is constant; each piece she creates is a celebration of the fruit, vegetable or animal she has captured with her inimitable flare.

 

Anna achieves all of this against a backdrop of rural living, all recorded in her daily instagram post, which her 5,000 plus followers have come to adore. Her illustration work is inextricably linked with her way of life, Anna meets the ups and downs of a self sufficient lifestyle with a smile, embracing each challenge as it comes. An attitude she has also applied to her illustration career.

Constantly evolving, honing her craft and listening to the market, Anna's determination has secured her place as one of the UK's leading natural history illustrators. We spoke with Anna about the beauty of working traditionally, her seemingly idyllic lifestyle and the joy she gets from her work.

NB Illustration welcomes Einat Tsarfati

Einat Tsarfati is an illustrator and author, with experience in a broad spectrum of works ranging from magazines, picture books, toys to apps and digital. Graduating with honours from the visual communications department at Bezalel Art and Design Academy, Einat worked as a designer and illustrator in one of Israel’s leading branding studios, before opening her own shop. In illustrations, she expresses her passion for highly-detailed drawing, and especially incorporating comic elements into her creations. Along with her illustration work, Einat also has an online comics Facebook page - 'Things That Annoy Me’ which has over 40,000 followers.

Picture book deal for Vanya Nastanlieva

Frances McKay Illustration are delighted that one of our newest illustrators Vanya Nastanlieva has signed a contract for a new picture book for Houghton Miffin Harcourt Publishing Group in the USA after a successful a meeting in Bologna in April with Dinah Stevenson of Clarion Books a division of HMHCO.

Elys Dolan’s first illustrated young fiction title has just been published by Oxford University Press, Knighthood for Beginners, the first title in a new three book contract for Elys. And it has been receiving some great reviews . She is currently out on a publicity tour for this new title.

Meet Nick Diggory as he showcases his new Vector style and celebrates 25 years as professional illustrator!

Here is tells us a bit more about his love of illustration,

"In 1985 I started my own studio and became a full time illustrator. That was over 30 years ago and now here I am, 20,000+ commissions later ...

Amongst other things, I've created characters for Sainsbury's, Asda and Tesco. I've Illustrated countless children's books and am one of Ritzenhoff Glassware's licenced designers. I also fly planes and ride motorbikes, but that's another story. I wouldn't change a thing."
