Helen Friel joins the Debut Art Roster

Since graduating in 2009 from Central Saint Martins, with a first class degree in Graphic Design, Helen Friel has been working as a freelance Paper Engineer.

Helen both hand cuts and uses technology to produce her pieces. Bridging the gap between two and three dimensions is central to her design practice as well as producing pieces that involve and evoke emotion in the audience.

Many of her pieces are stage sets in miniature, creating worlds with layers of card and paper. They are often influenced by an off-beat sense of humour that captions the delicate cut-outs. Her work has been featured in books Papercraft and Papercraft 2.

Working from her studio in South London, Helen has produced work for clients including: Vogue UK, Vanity Fair UK, Time, Tatler UK, Tatler Asia, Harrods Magazine, MOO and Men’s Health.

Sci-fi by Richard Jones

Richard Jones has made a deviation  from his usual photographically painted work, and has been developing his 3D skills in creating this new Science Fiction piece as a sample,  the image attached is totally created in 3D using multiple software, all  developed and modelled by Richard himself. Richard  is now working on moving images and hopes to have created two working films by the end of the month which are ideally suited for promo’s for publishing and web use.

Giant snowmen

Tado were recently invited to take part in a fantastic project put together by the Toronto Tourism board, The Magic Pony Gallery, CP+B, Narwhal Arts Projects and Lunch Creative. Along with 15 other artists they designed 8 foot giant snowmen who have now taken over Toronto's parks, shopping malls and public spaces. The Torontoland Giant Snowman campaign is raising money for the Startlight Children’s Foundation who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries. Each time a picture is taken of one of the snowmen and uploaded to Facebook $2 will be donated to the charity.
