Lang is one of the finest*

Helen Lang works on several product and packaging concepts for the Tesco finest* range.
Commissioned by P&W London, Helen created the hand lettering for three dipping oils and rapeseed oil. She says "The brief was to make it look hand rendered as though someone had created their own infusions and written on the labels as a home cook would do." More products with Helen's work will be released soon.

The Sweetness of Forgetting

Quercus Books recently commissioned Lucy Davey to do this lovely cover for one of their titles The Sweetness of Forgetting and liked it so much that they have just asked her to illustrate the back cover too!
We agree that it's a stunning illustration, typical of Lucy's fresh and evocative style and use of colour.

Migy Blanco

This retro inspired illustration was created by Migy Blanco for the BBC’s classical music magazine. His great use of lettering  and clever mix of iconography provides a super stylish advert that shows what musical events are happening around the UK. This is just one of the many pieces that Migy has produced for magazines around the world

DrNo Vintage Guitar Effects

Boom Artwork recently created the logo artwork and packaging design for DrNo vintage guitar effects. And a very pleasurable job it was, as he thrives on mixing graphic design, custom lettering and illustration, all of which were required for this commission. Initially BoomArtwork did some rough sketches and then set out six different vintage visual routes, one for each guitar effect. Reflecting the sound and style of the effect within the artwork, he finally placed the sketches in illustrator, traced them and added colour. Custom letters were also created to make every effect unique and special. BoomArtwork says "As I'm a guitar player myself I have to say these vintage guitar effects are truly amazing and really take you back in time. All effects are made with the best components and materials that are available, and every stomp box is 100% handmade by DrNo himself."

Welcome to Heathrow

Ruth Rowland has delivered spectacularly with a series of large posters for a BAA Welcome Campaign at Heathrow Airport. The idea was for recognisable London characters to welcome passengers on their arrival, eleven real characters have been used; from a Carnival Queen to a Chelsea Pensioner, a Doorman to a Policeman. Ruth wrote the word ‘Welcome’ in a style to reflect all their different personalities, they can be seen along the Terminal 4 Travelator at Heathrow.

The Unreliable Life of Harry The Valet

James Brown produced this brilliant cover for the ‘The Unreliable Life of Harry The Valet’ in collaboration with Meiklejohn artist Piers Sanford.  The combination of James’ retro typography and Piers’ etching created a great Victorian Billboard feel for this true story of the most infamous Victorian Jewel thief.
