Alex T Smith Nominated for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2012
Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2012 shortlist includes Claude In The City (Hodder), by Alex T Smith, selected for the Fiction 5-12 category. Alex’s charming story is about the adventures of a little dog called Claude and his friend, Sir Bobblysock. All winners will be announced on 28th March at the award ceremony at Waterstones’ flagship store in Piccadilly – we can’t wait!

Terry Pratchett Covers
Now on his fifth cover, Tom Steyer gives the German Terry Pratchett editions some modernisation. Manhatten (Random House) commissioned Tom to illustrate bright, bold and memorable images, Tom says: "The technique I use enables them to apply the illustrations in various ways. For example the back covers and insides and tear-out bookmarks can have different versions i.e. different camera angles or lighting of the same subjects. All elements can be isolated and reorganized to form additional scenes. Furthermore all objects can be animated to promote the books on websites". Tom Steyer is represented by Illustration
Artemis Fowl is revealed!
Leading illustrator Bob Lea represented by Artist Partners, was commissioned to redesign the much coveted cover artwork of the seven cover titles for the Artemis Fowl series, written by Eoin Colfer. The stylish covers which were mainly white illustrations in 3d , were a very unique style and a departure from the old covers.
The new covers were launched by Penguin - Puffin Books - with the aid of an electronic countdown in the centre of Piccadilly Circus. The author was also there and was orchestrating the countdown for the actual moment of the release of the books, which was then simultaneously launched to all the many Artemis Fowl fans on all the social networking sites and youtube throughout the world....
Bob Lea has also been commissioned to undertake the making of a animated trailer to launch the books on the TV, which he has done very successfully indeed! And this is just the start of the marketing campaign !
