Wendy’s Logo

Kathryn Rathke has been keeping a secret for over 3 years! But now with the unveiling of the new Wendy’s logo, she can finally reveal her part in the project.
Back in 2009 Kathryn was approached by Tesser to aid them in re-designing the Wendy's logo. She worked with them very closely; sketching, getting feedback and revising over a period of months. Tesser were very happy with the animation and expression that Kathryn was able to distil into a few elegant lines, and Kathryn was honoured to be a part of such an iconic job working with such a great design team. Just Published: Primrose by Alex T Smith

Alex T Smith's exciting new picture book 'Primrose', is published by Scholastic this month. Primrose is a princess who just wants to have fun but the King tells her off for climbing trees and the Queen shrieks when she catches her jumping on the bed with Percy the pug. She isn't allowed to dig in the garden or cook cakes in the kitchen, her life is boring, boring, boring! This is until Grandmama comes for a visit and reminds everyone in the royal household how important it is to have some belly-laughs. This book is very pink, feisty and a lot of fun - it's available in hardback, paperback and the ebook is narrated by Lucy Porter through Me Books. Alex T Smith is represented by Arena

The Breakfast Club

Sam Hadley was commissioned by Elmwood to produce an illustration for the Soho based cafe chain 'The Breakfast Club'.
They were looking for a classic airbrush style pin-up illustration to go with branding on the side of their 'Festival Bus'.
They looked to the iconic ‘Bomber Belle’  livery designs of American warplanes for inspiration – something that would capture the new venture’s pioneering spirit and remain true to the vintage, tongue-in-cheek approach of The Breakfast Club. Flying the tablecloth is ‘Madame D’Arblay’, named after the Soho street in London where the Breakfast Club’s first café was opened.
The Breakfast Club is also looking to a run a series of t-shirts and other merchandise with the same design! Keep your eyes out!
