CONGRATULATIONS! We’re proud to announce that Jonny Duddle, has won the most prestigious and valuable children’s book prize in the country for his picture book The Pirates Next Door (Templar). His book was crowned overall winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2012 which, champions new and emerging talent in children’s writing.
Announcing the award, Melissa Cox, Children’s Buyer at Waterstones, described the book as a thoroughly deserving winner: “The Pirates Next Door is full of the anarchic wit and invention children love in a picture book. It’s fresh and fun and has been a huge hit in Waterstones’ shops across the country, and had an incredible reception from booksellers, parents and, most importantly, children. Paul Boston was recently commissioned by Computer Active magazine for their article on automatic fixes for PC's. Paul illustrated this fantastic Heath Robinson type robot capable of fixing anything with a single click.

Orange recently commissioned Ben Scruton to illustrate their employee guidelines. Ben's brief was to "make people smile when they land on each page, at the same time as clearly communicating what the content on that page is about." Ben's playful characters did the job perfectly.

Adrian Valencia has illustrated this gorgeous cover illustration for the new novel by Elizabeth Buchan. 'Daughters' is out now, published by Penguin. Adrian is represented by Eastwing.
Huge congratulations to the ultra talented Chris Wormell who was awarded first prize in the ’books for younger children’ category in the Red House Children’s Book Award 2012 for ‘Scruffy Bear and the Six White Mice’. The award was decided by the harshest critics of all, the children themselves. Well done Chris!
