Rohan Eason works on a new edition of Robin Jarvis' classic novel.
Published by Egmont and with a fresh design, Rohan has used his moody pen work to create a cover to entice young readers, he explains, "All previous versions have focused on the evil dogs or the witches themselves. The idea was to create a more dramatic feeling, to represent what the story entails, the magic surrounding the witches and the majesty and power of the book's setting; by the sea in Whitby."

Joint London commission Ruth Palmer for these retro portraits for Dave's Crackanory.

And to promote Dave's new Crackanory series, the portraits include David Mitchell, Vic Reeves, Johnny Vegas and Ruby Wax. Ruth says "I love the painting styles of the old picture books and so this was a really enjoyable project to work on."
Spike Gerrell's hilarious illustrations feature in James Dawson's This Book is Gay, published by Hot Key Books this month. A funny and pertinent book about being lesbian, bisexual, gay, queer, transgender or just curious, Spike's images are the perfect foil for James' wit and wisdom. This book really smashes the myths and prejudice surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity.
