No stranger to working with some major charities, Ben Tallon uses his skills as illustrator and art director to launch Xpress; an awareness campaign to raise money for the The Campaign Against Living Miserably. CALM works to prevent male suicide in the UK, and after meeting the charity, Ben was given a blank canvas to direct a campaign focused on raising money and awareness. His response has come from an urge to share the benefits of his own artistic expression, and so along with the support of his fellow creatives, Ben has launched Xpress.
On May 3rd 2013, Ben's company Quenched Music will release an exclusive album from which 100% of proceeds will go directly to the charity. It will feature the best of new UK and international music and some overseas 'heavyweights' who will be announced soon. Also featuring men working in the arts, Ben and the team now have the support of Stephen Merchant, Danny Dyer, Jon McClure and more. In addition, a campaign newspaper will be released alongside the album containing all interviews and features including the portrait above. It was created to support an exclusive interview with Steve for the campaign in which he discusses comedy, growing up, art and his movie career. The Xpress website will also showcase contemporary art, design, comedy, illustration, film and poetry.
Please support the cause through the crowd funding campaign here.

The uniquely talented artist Stewart Easton was asked to produce this lovely image entitled "La Segua", in his digital and hand embroidery style.
The image depicts a Costa Rican folk tale entitled: 'La Segua' which Stewart designed for the Making Moves project in conjunction with Craftspace Ltd.
The project is about working within a Hispanic Group formed of a mix of people from Spain, Peru, Mexico and Costa Rica with the aim to expose children to the Hispanic Culture and the Spanish language .
After meeting with them in Warwick, Stewart was required to make a piece of artwork which had a connection to the group. During the specific workshops that took place there was a great deal of story telling by the the people taking part. Stewart was inspired by a particular folk tale from Costa Rica entitled "La Segua" that was told by one of the group, and he has used that storyline for the grounds of his creative artwork.
This piece was hand drawn, digitally manipulated and printed digitally onto fabric. It was then finished by hand embroidery.
