New Arena Illustrator: Alejandro Colucci

We are very proud to introduce a new Arena illustrator, Alejandro Colucci. He is an award-winning artist who is comfortable illustrating fantasy, crime, horror, historic fiction and science fiction publications across the globe. His illustrations have adorned the covers of many bestselling writers including H.G. Wells, Ursula K. Le Guin, J.G. Ballard, Anne Rice, Mario Puzon and Patricia Cornwell to name just a few.
Alejandro works in a variety of techniques both traditional and digital, his artwork engages the viewer to give an emotional response to his subjects. Here are two recent book cover designs he illustrated for Michelle Paver's exciting new series, Gods and Warriors, published by Puffin.

A Game of Ghouls

Bob Lea represented by Artist Partners, has produced some stunning artwork for a new series of books "The Phenemonals" written by F. E. Higgins and published by Macmillan (art direction: Rachel Vale)
Here is book number two entitled:  A Game of Ghouls .

Bob Lea  has spent the recent months writing  and illustrating a number of  his own children’s books  which will be aimed at the pre-school and baby market which are original in their concept, but have yet to be shown to suitable publishers.

Kilian has been working with the brilliant Mondo again. This time on a poster for everyone's favourite 'Game Of Thrones' series, commissioned as part of their annual SXSW show. And also, the now SOLD OUT Argo poster, based on the the made up Sci-fi film that features in the film.

Just Published: The King of Space by Jonny Duddle

At last the wait is over, Jonny Duddle, author of bestselling The Pirates Next Door, has a new picture book published by Templar this month. The King of Space is an intergalactic adventure, set on a Moog Farm on a small moon in the Gamma Quadrant. Rex may seem to be your average mini galactic citizen but he hatches an evil plan to become KING OF SPACE and conquer the known universe (and some bits we don't know about too). There are lots of aliens, warbots, a kidnapped Princess and dung blasters too! A tale of Traitors

Bob Lea who clearly has a very distinctive illustrative  style, and especially in the young adult fiction genre, was recently commissioned by Pan Macmillan Publishing to produce a series of stunning  book covers for the  series entitled: The Phenomenals by F E Higgins.  Here is the first book  entitled : “A Tale of Traitors”   which has been creating a lot of buzz in the YA circles. SF Masterworks: Doomsday Book Illustrated by Christopher Gibbs

Christopher Gibbs created this powerful cover for Connie Willis' Doomsday Book, winner of the Hugo & Nebula Awards. Published this month by Gollancz, Doomsday Book is a tale of plague and time travel written by the SFWA Grand Master of Science Fiction. This is the thirteenth title Christopher has illustrated for the classic science fiction series SF Masterworks.

Larry Rostant

Another year, another nomination for Artist Partners very own talented artist Larry Rostant!  The David Gemmell Awards are just around the corner, being hosted this year at The Magic Circle, congregating together will the well known and highly respected fantasy Authors from the fantasy genre, top fantasy publishers and their editors who will also attend.

Many great talented names this year will be celebrating the 2012 awards ! The David Gemmell awards, was named after one of Britain’s most talented and best selling fantasy author’s David Gemmell who died in 2006 . David was the  main judge of the national literary competition, "the Legend Writing Award"  which was named after his breakthrough novel “Legend”.  These awards were established and intended to "restore fantasy to its proper place in the literary pantheon”.

As in previous years, Larry Rostant appears once again in the shortlist, this time for his hugely successful cover for  "Among Thieves" by Douglas Hulick. the book was published by Macmillan Books (Tor Imprint) and art directed by Neil Lang

Sci-fi by Richard Jones

Richard Jones has made a deviation  from his usual photographically painted work, and has been developing his 3D skills in creating this new Science Fiction piece as a sample,  the image attached is totally created in 3D using multiple software, all  developed and modelled by Richard himself. Richard  is now working on moving images and hopes to have created two working films by the end of the month which are ideally suited for promo’s for publishing and web use.
