Illustrated by David Roberts and written by his sister Lin Roberts, "Cinderella" has been chosen by a prestigious store in Auckland New Zealand to be used in a very unique and creative way as animated Christmas Shop displays .
The Auckland shop Smith and Caughey is a highly prestigious store in a beautiful Art Deco building, which is why they were particularly enamoured with the artworks from the book Cinderella which is set in the Art Deco period. They were so inspired, they requested the licence to use the artworks as the theme to their own Christmas Window displays. Artist Partners have now developed a working relationship with the Australian provider of mechanically animated display’s, Promotions in Motion, and together they have collaborated and produced highly admired windows for the Auckland store featuring “ The Cinderella Project". It is now also viewable on You Tube and the New Zealand television have featured it in a small film , due to such resounding success. So much so that Artist Partners have now created a new working relationship with Promotions in Motion for future projects producing moving animated illustrations for shop windows here in the UK .

The great appeal of Cinderella presented in Art Deco is that it is such a beautiful, fresh approach to a favourite story. New Zealand has a huge Art Deco following with the City of Napier considered the Art Deco capital of the world. The Smith and Caughey’s building has an Art Deco look and feel and this lends superbly to the choice of the story. Smith and Caughey’s present their windows as a gift to the City of Auckland and they work tirelessly to ensure the artistic integrity of their windows in a time when Christmas is over commercialised.

It's been a musical summer for lettering artist Ruth Rowland.
Hot on the heels of the Lennon job, she has just completed the latest James Blunt album. "Some Kind Of Trouble" plus his latest single, "Stay The Night" sees loose, brush style lettering created to work with the overall design of the packaging which has an old school, scrapbook feel. The layouts were put together traditionally with sellotape and paper and then photographed. The style is also taken through to James Blunt's website.
