Gary Redford
Following on from the success of their summer campaign, Hatched London commissioned Meiklejohn artist Gary Redford to illustrate three more posters for The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The campaign ran across the UK's mainline train stations and The London Underground and was a finalist in the CIM's Marketing Excellence Awards 2012.

Wendy’s Logo
Kathryn Rathke has been keeping a secret for over 3 years! But now with the unveiling of the new Wendy’s logo, she can finally reveal her part in the project.
Back in 2009 Kathryn was approached by Tesser to aid them in re-designing the Wendy's logo. She worked with them very closely; sketching, getting feedback and revising over a period of months. Tesser were very happy with the animation and expression that Kathryn was able to distil into a few elegant lines, and Kathryn was honoured to be a part of such an iconic job working with such a great design team. Love To Share
McCann Erickson Advertising have commissioned Gail Armstrong to create 10 images for Nestle's "Love to Share" campaign. The images, which focus on hands and bags of sweets, are effective in design and clever in the way they reflect the title. Gail says "They are set against a single colour scene behind, which gives a sense of the location and atmosphere in which the different sweets might be shared. Everything in the images is made from paper - hands, bags, sweets, type - an entire world made of paper." You'll spot the first posters and point of sale pieces in selected London cinemas now.

Tequila Mockingbird
Towards the end of last year Lauren Mortimer illustrated 'Tequila Mockingbird'; a cocktail book published by Running Press. The book which contains recipes based on classic novels is now out and available to buy!
Lauren was commissioned to produce 40 full page illustrations, as well as the cover. She says "My job was to illustrate the recipes incorporating key themes from the book upon which it was based. I used only graphite, creating quite surreal images throughout; (Lord of the Mai Tai's, Charlie and the Chocolate Faketini, Gin Eyre are a few of the titles....), it was such a fun and great creative project for me...it also got a great review in the Evening Standard (news)paper."

PORTAS PILOTS
Andy Council has recently completed this magnificent mural of a horse in the Bedminster area of Bristol. It was commissioned as part of the Government’s ‘Portas Pilots’ – an initiative to get TV retail guru Mary Portas to help revitalise town centres. Bedminster’s bid, put together by local traders, community leaders and councillors, had the vision of turning the south Bristol suburb into a renowned ‘village’ centre for street art and street theatre, complete with a bicycle rickshaw service. Andy's large mural took several days of work to complete with the help of the Upfest team, the use of a scissor lift and dozens of cans of spray paint. The horse was chosen to reflect the area's mining past and it is purely coincidental that current news stories involve horses! Photograph by Paul Green Photography. PATRONAAT BAR
This rather gorgeous bar has been designed by the multi-talented Eric Van Den Boom of BoomArtwork. The Dutch venue Patronaat in Haarlem asked Eric to design this drinker's heaven from scratch, so with rough dimensions, a brief that it should have a fairground/church theme and two weeks to come up with the goods, Eric began with sketches of the shape, details, lettering and decoration. He says "When I had the sketch ready I art-directed the 3D artist Jasper Hesseling to create a 3D digital model of it, giving the client a good image of how the venue should look. The builders constructed the bar from these 3D images, and they did an amazing job". We'd love to have a drink there (or two)! BoomArtwork is represented by Illustration Ltd
IRS CALENDAR
Embracing a paper theme, Gail Armstrong was commissioned by the IRS in America to supply illustrations for their 2013 calendar. The calendar highlights key dates in the financial year and gives tips on completing accounts and tax forms, and as this was the last year of producing a paper version before switching over to digital forms, it seemed more than appropriate to ask a paper sculptress to come up with the goods! Gail says "...(the images) closely reflected the text of each month...(and) the tone throughout was reasonably light-hearted, yet authoritative, some of the images being created using tax forms, brown envelopes and ledger paper."
